Two years later

it has been two years since I last wrote anything. I had every intention to be creative, post some ideas and say a few things.

sorry this post is not about the latest purse that was created but on how I see the last two years.

we had tickets to a concert shortly after March 1, 2020 and we wondered if we were able to go to it at all. we did and the next day, everything shut down in our area. the next two years whizzed by. this last week we attended the same head liner, two years and five days later in celebration; no mask or restrictions.

in seeing all of the disinformation and lack of proper news coverage during this time, causes you to wake up and try to find the real truth.

it’s still not really being said. slowly it drips out and if you blink or someone asks you a question, you might miss it. but the general public is asking questions or realizing something is amiss. unfortunately some are asking, “what have I agreed to?”

the real story here is the corruption and enslavement we the people have been in for centuries and the lies we have been fed to cover up planned genocide, child Trafficking, and bio weapon viruses. global warming, controlled lock downs, mRNA DNA altering jabs, flatten the curve caused many to follow in lock step without question or even suspect.

when did we come to believe everything the government and media said? in a time when information travels at the speed of light, the general public believe the handful of local news channels that are touting the exact same narrative. I noticed my local news only talks about the local sports team, crime nearby, what new store opened, and the weather. one would think that the rest of the world is asleep or totally boring. we never heard of the protests going on for 18 plus weeks in France, Germany, Australia, Italy, New Zealand and many more countries. they refused to accept the jab or the jab passports. people who had the passports were burning their cards in solidarity with those who would not comply.

the last time society had this same type of ridiculousness was the Spanish flu; about 100 years prior; go figure, it started in March too. they wore masks and lined up for jabs and it too was the flu. except covid is patented and something that has a patent is not a naturally occur thing; research it.

I believe this was a plandemic. every 100 years when the last generation is no longer around to tell you how bogus it is, it happens again. they also start the jab people who are 70 years + on purpose; some may remember and we would not want them to tell you.

my question during this whole thing was, “when did he ever mask up or stop life for the common cold, flu, sinus infection, ear infection or bronchitis?” half the time people came to work with all of the above without blinking an eye. they never went to the doctor to get prescribed meds to help the rest of their co-workers to stay well. they did not want to spend the money for the visit or take the time off.

here is the truth. our bodies are so wonderfully made that if we care for ourselves the way that we should, we can overcome most basic illness. it is called natural immunity. our creator saw to this. but the problem is most of us are not asking our creator how to take care of ourself nor how to combat what comes our way. unfortunately we look to the government, science and the media instead of the one who knows.

Brushing Off the Old…

With the new year, I have decided to change up a few things; change this web page and revamp my Store provider. Visit both and tell me your opinion…thanks.

I am not sure how much information I will be adding this year. Only time will tell.

Enjoy Life!

New Patterns Added

I enjoy making things for myself. So I have decided to help out those who feel the same way.

I have added four new pattern designs to my Etsy Store Front.

There are two great shoulder purses. These purse designs are the best. Once made, they will last a lifetime. The shoulder straps are worked through the entire purse for durability and strength. Easy to maintain; just toss into the clothes washer and air dry. With macrame cord, the colors do not fade, so it keeps its good looks always.

If you are looking for a project to enjoy this summer, then take a peek at the other two pattens added. They are two  versions of the same hanging macrame chair. One I have made for myself and the other I will be working on soon.

I hope one of these patterns will spark a bit of DIY in you.

Enjoy!

And Believe It or Not, They Are All Unique

IMG_2657photo 4Here is a great example of the same only different.

This purse has been made so many individual sizes and colors and still each is its only creation.

The black, cactus and white is according to the original pattern with a finished size of  11″ x 13″.

With each size change, the pattern also changes just a little. Sometimes the amount of ribs have to be adjusted for the total length wanted. The color span differs when the desired width is made larger or smaller.6342
The brown/orange combo has a finished size of 14″ x 9″, the blue/oatmeal is 12″ x 8.5″, the black, cranberry and ivory measures 12″ x 12″ and the black, cranberry and zebra is 15″ x 13″. Their interiors differ based on what each customers needs are.
Because of the ribbed sides, the purse is made mostly on its side, fanned out flat. The picture shows the outer edge in the center (black) with the white ribs moving left and right to the front centers. Square knots pull the ribs together to form the bottom.

The strap cords run through the entire design giving it added strength. Notice the black in the four purses above, runs from the strap to the top sides, through the ribs to the center bottom and tied with the other cords to close it off.

Care and maintenance could not be easier; machine wash and air dry. The nylon cord dries quickly and you just lift the liner to the outside until dry.

It is one basic design with endless possibilities.

Patterns Added

QuestionMarkI receive emails from people all over who would like to take the time to make something they see and like for themselves. I can relate to this.

Over the last two years, I have come across different ideas that appeal to me and I want to have a go. I do not want to ask specifics of the designer, so I set out at trial and error until I accomplish it. I will watch Youtube videos or do searches on the web for the details.

So I have added a new section to my Etsy store. This is for the Do It Yourself ‘r who wants to roll up their sleeves and make it their own. Or take the original and modify it for something bigger.

For now I have started with two patterns for purchase. If there is a design you are interested in that you would like to see made into a pattern from MacramePurse, let me know. Check out the Gallery for ideas. I am still available to customer create something for you if you wish.

2015 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 25,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 9 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Large Hippie Bag

IMG_2009IMG_2011Thank you to Pam from Plant City, FL for allowing me to create the pictured Hippie Bag for her. It is a flat purse design made by knotting the material, then forming it into the purse you wish.

This is a larger version of the one made in June 2012. Three years ago, I made an 8 inch square Hippie Bag  as a replacement for another customer.

This design is knotted using 4mm Ivory macrame cord. It measures 10 inches from top to bottom and side to side, with a strap length of 21 inches from shoulder to the top of the purse. There are 4 wooden beads on the strap, 5 more beads on the outer flap of the purse and the liner is white with three pockets.

IMG_1977IMG_1993After you make the strap, the body knots are added in between. It is then made to the length needed. Fold the material in half for the desired purse size and stitch the sides of the purse with pieces of cord left over to form the body.

Stuff the purse with tissue to get the effect of contents.
IMG_1995Continue knotting rows until you complete the front flap length. Remember to add beads or any other decorations before reaching the end.

The liner is then hand sewn in place. This and other macrame designs made completely with cord, are very easy to maintain. Just remove purse contents and launder. Remove from your machine and gently bring the liner to the outside and it will dry in no time.

Information When Ordering a Purse

I receive many people requesting a special order purse. I have a form that you should initially fill out to start the process.

There are two items on this form that I would like to take a little time to talk about. One is the difference between the cord thicknesses. In the case of macrame cord, the higher the number, the thicker the cord. This means that it will take less knots to produce a specific size or if the same number of knots are produced, the item will be bigger than a smaller millimeter cord.

The strength and durability is the same but the item has a slightly different texture when you use a smaller cord.

The smaller cord  allows a tighter and smoother look, but does need a style that will help stabilize a larger item. The larger cord has the same uniformity but has a thicker look to it and has the ability to stand on its own when the item grows in size. You can take a 6mm cord purse and give it a little push down from the top rim and in most cases the bottom will hold the purse upright without help.

The second item I would like to address is the Available Colors on the form. This website has a page labeled as such to give you reference to what colors are still around for me to use. Take a look at this page or click the link toward the top of the Order form before ordering. It is best to give me the exact color name that you prefer. If you are not sure of the color representation, let me know and hopefully I can show you a purse in the Gallery that uses that color for reference.

Because these are individually made, I want to ensure that you are happy with the finished piece.  I would suggest that you measure your phone and any other item that you would like a special pocket made and enter this information in the last area of the form.

One last thought. These purses are strong, durable and easy to maintain. I wash my purses in my front loading washer and pull the liner up, setting it outdoors to dry when I can or just in the house during the winter months. They dry in no time. The only difference are the flex frame purses. These should be washed with a towel wrapped around so the frame does not bang into the sides of your washer; wash on delicate. Also remove any glass ornaments before washing like the picture above on the right; they can be reattached after.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I will be more than happy to get back to you.

Ready for the Rest of Winter

2014-12-13 22.56.32I am set to be creative this winter. I have my needles, yarn, crochet thread, beads, hooks, instruction books and kits.

New this winter: bead knitting, beaded knitting (there is a difference), making cowls, knitting socks, slippers,  and crocheting a table runner. Yes, I will macrame also.

It may have taken two months to get the hang of knitting with beads, but I am really enjoying it. It is so much fun watching the article form and become something small and beautiful.

I finished the body of a gray/silver bead pouch, but I am waiting to finish a couple different colored ones before adding the neck and fringe. I have just separated all the decorative beads that I have and I will be able to create a pretty pattern for them later.

I will show and tell more later. Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
